On February 18, 2026, the College of City and Regional Planning at the University of Duhok hosted the first seminar of the Spring Semester. The seminar, titled “Citizen Engagement,” was presented by Mr. Barry Jacob, an expert from VNG International.

The session highlighted the critical role of public participation in urban planning, local governance, and community development. Mr. Jacob provided practical insights and shared international experiences from the Netherlands, offering valuable perspectives for both academic staff and students on how to bridge the gap between authorities and the community.
