On Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, the Department of City Planning/College of City and Regional Planning held a one-day workshop, focusing on Cultural Tourism Plan in Historic Cities in Akre City/Qishla Building. The workshop was led by Dr. Shireen Ismail, Ms. Jowan Bayez, alongside the guest lecturer Dr. Bekas Brifkany, the Director of Antiquities of Duhok.

The workshop covered important topics of what a Tourism Plan is and went through group discussions with government and non-government stakeholders. Afterward, a field was made by the groups around Akre city, followed by a presentation of the results.
