On October 21, 2025, the College of City and Regional Planning hosted a collaborative workshop titled “Impact of Land Division on Service Delivery.” The workshop was jointly presented by Mr. Zana Nori and Ms. Waheeda Mustafa from the Urban Planning Directorate.

The workshop examined the administrative and spatial challenges associated with land parceling and its direct effects on public infrastructure provision.

Key Themes Addressed:

• Spatial Parcelation Dynamics: Analyzing how fragmented land ownership patterns affect physical municipal planning.
• Public Infrastructure Efficiency: Evaluating the operational challenges of delivering utilities, roads, and services to improperly divided urban zones.
• Regulatory Governance: Discussing policy solutions and planning enforcement tools to align private land division with municipal service capacities.
