Summer School on Cultural Heritage and Public Participation - September 2 - 10.

Under a DAAD funded project between TU Dortmund and UoD, College of City and Regional Planning, a delegation consisting from representatives from Duhok Directorate of Antiquities and Heritage and the World Monument Fund is engaging in a summer school in Dortmund, Germany. Jointly organized by Dr. Johannes Lückenkötter from TU Dortmund and Dr. Basheer Saeed from UoD, the summer school is focused on how public participation is used as an important component in historic preservation efforts in Germany. The lessons learned from those summer school would be vital for Duhok governorate to better integrate public participation in its historic preservation activities.
